
Sri Bashyam is the magnum opus of Swami Ramanujar's works. The Sri Bashyam is the extensive research and interpretation of Swami Ramanujar on the Brahma Sutras. Sri Ramanuja spent nearly half of his life in preparing himself for the creation of this masterpiece. He advanced his philosophical ideas in his early work, the Vedarthasangraha.Swami Ramanujar immersed himself in the Vedic literature, particularly the Upanisads. Swami Ramanujar aquired an in-dept understanding of the commentaries of various School of thoughts propogated by Sri Sankara, Bhaskara, and Yadava-prakasa, he also mastered the Advaitic texets written by Mandana, Padmapada, Suresvara, Vacaspati-misra, Vimuktatman, and Prakasatman, and shaped his own vision of Vedanta, which he considered this as purpose of his life. Swami Ramanujar completed this great master piece at his 100th year. From our acharyas we learn that Goddess Saraswati was so over whelmed by this commentry that she blessed it with the prefix ‘Sri’. Swami Ramanuja wrote two more commentries named Vedanta Deepa and Vedanta Saara, to assist the understanding of the Sri Bhashya.
This set of 15 books by Srivaishnavasri Krishnamachari, written in simple tamizh further simplifies the meaning and helps in understanding this great masterpiece. With more than 3500 pages the author handles the subjuct with accuracy and attention to minute details.
